Monday's are ok. For now, I have free AC at work.
Yesterday under the tent was HOT.
I brought my button maker to the market. I gave away a make your own button; but didn't sell any. It did get a couple folks into the tent to ask about the odd contraption I was using ...and might lead to an order or 2 for the sew-on button type from a clothing designer. And it did give me something to do.
It was not a great sales day; but didn't tank entirely & I sure made my booth fee back (wink, was in free Etsy tent, wink.) I'm pretty sure it wasn't my product since the brownie lady had many many many brownies left. I told everyone about Etsy.
I was situated on a corner, which seems like an ideal. But in this case, I'm not so sure…people seem to skim by the corner. My fancy sign did get some good attention! I L O VE it. My chere aunty made it for me.
Was expecting a booth mate (at this point that's good for me, since I don't think I have a full booth of product / display setup.) and she had a family emergency, so she wasn't there. I was also a little bummed that I couldn't browse the fair - there were over 100 vendors ~ and I didn't want to leave the tent for too long.
Stuff that worked:
Screen with earrings hanging from tent structure was a good experiment - it didn't blow over & people could still see it over the table.
New cards for post earrings was good/cute.
My booth neighbor had some interesting sales patter. I learned a couple things from listening to her.
New folder for Credit Card orders was easy!
Stuff for next time
I need to remember to bring a better lunch! (but my lemonade was wonderful.)
Would like better display for necklaces & bracelets. Saw interesting use of garden structure and nice use of folding bookshelves.
Fix table coverings - or whatever to them - they got dirty fast & were heavy & bulky (a good & bad thing actually - they didn't blow around like sheets did, but were big heavy & hard to handle & didn't really drape.)
Make table leg extensions for more height
Know any good sounds about Tuesdays?
